Select the threaded rivet nut size that you wish to use: 6-32, 8-32, 10-24 or 1/4-20. With the rivet tool handle spread wide open, screw on the corresponding threaded mandrel by turning it counterclockwise and tighten with wrench. With rivet tool handle still wide open, screw the corresponding nose piece onto the rivet tool and tighten it by turning counterclockwise.
With the rivet tool handle spread wide open, screw the threaded rivet nut onto the threaded mandrel and tighten until the threaded rivet head makes contact with nose piece. Drill recommended hole size as per the chart below and insert the threaded rivet attached to the rivet tool into the drilled hole.
Squeeze the rivet tool handle to secure the threaded rivet into hole drilled in previous step. Rivet is set when expanded and snug in hole. Caution: Threads will become damaged if set with too much force. Using tool knob, unscrew tool from threaded rivet. Rivet nut is now ready to accept screws.
