With engine turned off and park brake applied, connect the spark plug wire test tool thin black wire lead with alligator clamp to a clean engine ground.
Idle engine with the park brake applied. Beginning at the distributor or coils, place groove end of tester over plug wire and slide toward the spark plug.
Tester will flash as it is moved down the plug wire towards the spark plug if the plug wire is bleeding ignition voltage. If test light was flashing but stops while moving along the wire, that would indicate a break point in the wire.
Fouled plugs may be indicated if tester flashes down the complete length of the spark plug wire but fails to flash once the tester reaches the spark plug.
